Bernie Florido is a visionary leader in GovTech and FinTech, blending public-sector empathy with private-sector innovation. As Founder and CEO of Cocoflo Innovations, a Vancouver-based software company modernizing government services, he has raised over $10 million and led the firm to be recognized as one of Canada’s top startups, earning praise from the former Deputy Director of the CIA for its civic technology platform.
A former police officer and recipient of the Police Meritorious Service Award for peacefully resolving an armed hostage incident, Mr. Florido brings a deep commitment to public safety, transparency, and community trust.
After leading an award-winning real estate development firm, he founded Cocoflo in 2019 to drive digital transformation in city operations. His leadership has advanced smart-city and digital recreation initiatives across North America, including a modernized parks and recreation system for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Beyond his corporate work, Mr. Florido serves on the Board of Community Council for The Salvation Army and as Civic Affairs Convenor for the Vancouver Council of Women, championing inclusion, civic innovation, and community connection.
Nate Bandy is an operator and builder with a deep background in elite sports and community facilities. A former NFL and NFL Europe player and standout at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, he later served as President of D1 Sports Training, helping scale locations nationwide alongside a network that includes leaders such as Peyton Manning, Tim Tebow, and Chris Paul.
Nate brings a proven growth playbook for launching and operating high-performance facilities, with a focus on customer experience, operational rigor, and partnership development. His trusted sports and community network accelerates Rec+ partnerships across cities, schools, and universities, translating real-world operational needs into software that works for staff and residents alike.
Chris brings a rare and formidable combination of legal acumen and tactical leadership to his role as Senior Advisor. Starting his professional career as a practicing lawyer in Edmonton, Chris possesses a Juris Doctor and a deep understanding of regulatory and legal frameworks. He pivoted from the courtroom to the front lines, dedicating 27 years to the Delta Police Department (DPD) where he retired as a Sergeant.
During his tenure in law enforcement, Chris specialized in high-stakes environments, including supervising the Uniform Gang Enforcement Team and commanding integrated K9 units across municipalities. His experience in Professional Standards highlights his expertise in internal compliance, ethics, and operational integrity. A lifelong educator, Chris has shaped the next generation of officers as an instructor at the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC). Chris provides the CEO with battle-tested counsel that bridges the gap between complex legal theory and practical, on-the-ground execution.
An accomplished IT leader with nearly 20 years of experience in software development and technical leadership. His expertise spans the entire software development lifecycle, with a strong focus on building scalable solutions, leading cross-functional teams, and driving operational excellence.
Proficient in Node.js, NoSQL, Java, and Kubernetes, Wallace excels in agile development environments, delivering impactful results across industries such as managed print services, healthcare, and fintech. Wallace has consistently developed innovative digital platforms that address complex business challenges.
A dedicated mentor, Wallace is passionate about nurturing talent and fostering team growth. He holds a Computer Programmer Analyst diploma from St. Lawrence College, where his foundation in software engineering began.
Matt is a Managing Director at Beedie Capital, one of the largest private investment platforms in Western Canada, bringing over 20 years of experience across private equity, strategy consulting, and operating roles. At Beedie he is responsible for leading strategic initiatives and investment activities across the technology and diversified sectors.
Matt was previously a Managing Director at Kensington Capital Partners, where he led the Vancouver office and managed over C$350 million across direct investments and fund commitments. He previously served as Vice President at Parallel49 Equity, where he helped manage over C$900 million of committed capital across two funds. Earlier in his career, he held strategic and operational roles in Canada and Norway with Teekay Corporation, and he worked in strategy consulting with Deloitte in San Francisco.
Matt’s investment experience spans diversified buyouts, growth equity, and venture capital, with sector expertise across business services, industrials, technology, and consumer industries. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an HBA with Distinction from Ivey Business School, and a BA from Queen’s University.
Santosh Iyer is a visionary entrepreneur and technologist at the forefront of healthcare innovation and education. He is the Founder and CEO of Moonshot, an elite organization devoted to training the next generation of innovators and the current healthcare workforce in deep tech. Through Moonshot’s programs, Mr. Iyer cultivates talent in areas such as medical artificial intelligence, surgical robotics, and biotechnology — empowering students, startup founders, and healthcare professionals to solve the industry’s most complex challenges using cutting-edge technologies.
A former Silicon Valley engineer with over a decade of hands-on experience in advanced medical technology, Mr. Iyer blends deep technical expertise with strategic business insight. He holds an MBA from Harvard, as well as dual degrees (BASc and MASc) in Engineering Science and Biomedical Engineering — giving him a unique perspective that bridges engineering innovation and leadership in healthcare.
Mr. Iyer has a strong track record of pioneering deep tech solutions in the medical device and digital health sectors. He has led early-stage R&D teams in developing transformative healthcare technologies — from prototype to commercial launch — particularly in surgical robotics and AI-driven imaging. As a leader, he excels at building cross-functional teams and forging partnerships that accelerate innovation.
Under his guidance, Moonshot not only educates future innovators, but also collaborates with schools, startups, and Fortune 500 companies to future-proof the healthcare workforce. Mr. Iyer’s influence extends beyond his ventures — as a thought leader and advisor, he advocates for a more intelligent, connected, and personalized healthcare system powered by data and technology.
By combining his passion for deep tech with a commitment to mentorship, Santosh Iyer is actively shaping the future of healthcare — and preparing the next wave of leaders to drive lasting, transformational change across the industry.
Seasoned shipping industry executive with over three decades of experience in marine transportation and finance. During his tenure at Teekay Corporation (1991–2005), he held several key leadership roles, including serving as President of Teekay’s shuttle tanker division and as the company’s Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Controller. In these positions, Mr. Antturi was instrumental in expanding Teekay’s shuttle tanker operations – critical vessels that transport oil from offshore platforms – and in strengthening the company’s financial management during a period of significant growth.
After departing Teekay’s executive ranks, Mr. Antturi re-engaged with the company at the board level, bringing his extensive industry insight to corporate governance. He joined the board of Teekay Corporation in 2019, and later the board of Teekay Tankers Ltd. in 2021. In addition, he serves as an executive officer of Resolute Investments Ltd., Teekay’s largest shareholder, where he provides strategic guidance on maritime investments. Through these roles, Mr. Antturi continues to shape the shipping industry’s future, drawing on his depth of experience to influence Teekay’s strategy and uphold strong governance. His leadership impact is evident in the steady growth and financial resilience of the organizations he steers, and he remains a respected figure in global marine midstream operations.
Veteran maritime and energy sector leader who spent nearly twenty years in senior roles with Teekay Corporation. As Chief Executive Officer of Teekay Tankers Ltd. and President of Teekay’s tanker services division, Mr. Chan guided the company’s conventional tanker business through one of the most challenging market downturns in recent history. Under his leadership, Teekay’s tanker segment was steered through volatility and positioned for a strong recovery when market conditions improved. This dynamic stewardship – characterized by strategic cost management and operational excellence – earned Mr. Chan recognition for stabilizing the business during adversity and laying the groundwork for renewed growth.
Throughout his Teekay career, Mr. Chan held a variety of key positions that showcased his versatile leadership. He advanced through roles in finance, investor relations, and corporate development before becoming Executive Vice President of Corporate Resources in 2005. In 2008, he took the helm of Teekay’s Tanker Services division, overseeing global crude oil and product tanker operations, and by 2011 he was appointed CEO of Teekay Tankers, the company’s publicly traded subsidiary. After retiring from Teekay in 2014, Mr. Bruce Chan transitioned to influential board and advisory positions. He currently serves on the board of the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority (Port of Vancouver) and chairs its Audit and Risk Management Committee, contributing his expertise to one of Canada’s largest ports. He is also an independent director with Green Impact Partners (a clean energy and environmental infrastructure company) and a board member of the TK Foundation, a non-profit supporting maritime education and youth programs. In these capacities, Mr. Chan continues to shape the industry – championing sustainability, strong governance, and community engagement – and his broad experience as a CPA and CFA underpins his strategic oversight in both corporate and non-profit sectors.
Harry Keifer, Jr. is a seasoned residential home warranty executive with more than two decades of experience in the real estate, home services, and sales leadership sectors. As Co-Founder and Chief Sales Officer of Achosa Home Warranty since its inception in July 2018, Mr. Keifer has helped shape the organization into one of the nation’s leading home warranty providers, recognized for its transparency, service excellence, and its pioneering “Choose Your Own Contractor” model.
Throughout his tenure at Achosa, Mr. Keifer has played a central role in establishing the company’s national presence, guiding sales strategy, strengthening partner ecosystems, and driving sustained year-over-year growth. His leadership has been instrumental in developing Achosa’s customer-centric culture, enhancing operational resilience, and elevating the experience for homeowners, Realtors, contractors, and internal sales teams.
Prior to co-founding Achosa, Mr. Keifer led the national sales organization for Direct Energy’s residential whole-home warranty division, Home Warranty of America (HWA), from 2011 to 2018. In this role, he managed and scaled both external and inside sales teams through a period of substantial expansion, record revenue performance, and strengthened nationwide market penetration.
Before entering the home warranty sector, Mr. Keifer served as Regional Sales Manager for Network Communications, Inc., overseeing sales, marketing, and publication operations across four facilities and 30 company-owned real estate publications in ten states for The Real Estate Book. His efforts contributed to meaningful market growth, operational efficiency, and increased publication visibility across multiple regions.
Across every role, Mr. Keifer’s career has been defined by disciplined sales execution, organizational leadership, and the development of high-performing teams. His experience spans customer onboarding, revenue strategy, national channel development, and large-scale partner engagement — positioning him as a respected and influential figure within both the real estate and home warranty industries. Mr. Keifer remains committed to driving innovation, advancing service standards, and building organizations that are both financially resilient and deeply people focused.
Derrick Moncrief is a professional football linebacker and celebrated athlete known for his relentless work ethic and community leadership. A standout at Oklahoma State University, Derrick’s professional career spans the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams and a dominant tenure in the CFL. He has been a key defensive playmaker for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Edmonton Elks, earning recognition as a CFL All-Star for his impact on the field.
Throughout his career, Derrick has exemplified resilience and discipline, traits he now applies to entrepreneurship and advocacy. His journey from collegiate athletics to professional leagues has given him a unique perspective on the power of organized sports to shape character and build futures.
Beyond the field, Derrick is passionate about mentorship and youth development. As a Community Ambassador for Rec+, he champions the importance of accessible recreation and active living. He works to bridge the gap between elite athletics and community programs, advocating for technology that helps local organizations empower the next generation of athletes and leaders.
